Getting Your EnerGuide Evaluation

Published on
June 8, 2024

With an EnerGuide home evaluation, a certified professional will do a detailed inspection of your home and complete a blower test to assess the air tightness of your home. This will take 1-2 hours.

Pre Upgrade Reports

In order to get a holistic understanding of your home's current energy consumption and loss, a certified Energy Advisor will conduct a details evaluation of your home. They look at everything from your heating, windows, insulation, and anything else that affects your home's exterior envelope.

One of the most recognizable tests they conduct is the blower door test. This allows them to determine the air tightness of your home.

Form the first evaluation, they will provide 2 reports

  1. Homeowner Information Sheet - Detailed energy modelling of your home. It will include specifications of your home's heating, windows, insulation, and airtightness to calculate your home's annual energy consumption in GJ.
  2. Renovation Upgrade Report - A list of the most impactful upgrades you can make to improve your home's energy efficiency.
Post Upgrade Report

After any upgrades have been completed, they will come back to validate the work completed and retest your home's air tightness. This will help them to create a new energy consumption score for your home and validate the savings your upgrades will bring.
